The Beach at Arrifana.
Surfing on the west coast used to be a preserve of locals only , now with more and more surf schools springing up , The coast is opening up to tourists. You can even hire a board and suit for about 60-80 euros for a week from local Surf shops. The beaches stretching north from Carrepateita to Arrifana are considered the best to try. We have a full report on the Industry coming soon.
