whats on in the Algarve

The Algarve’s sunny shores offer perfect escapes for all types, from those seeking the hot nightlife of flashy, energetic Lagos to those desiring secluded stays in rambling Sagres. Portugal’s most southerly region offers historical attractions in former Moorish capital Silves and fascinating Tavira, great golf, fabulous beaches from Praia da Luz to Armacao de Pera, thermal springs at Caldas de Monchique, and miles of limestone caves and grottoes, cliffs and bays along its rugged coastline.

It is growing year on year and is fantastic fun for all ages. Just wander about and soak up the atmosphere…go to the jousting tournament …eat drink and get merry….hire a medieval costume and pretend you’re a medieval lady or knight….browse the myriad stalls selling all manner of goods with a middle eastern flavour.  Above all just turn up and enjoy a truly wonderful afternoon or evening out – the later the better as the atmosphere is obviously better once dark. If you are British and have young children forget about bedtime and bring them – summer evenings here are for all ages.
